![]() This month is dedicated to celebrating all aspects of weddings, from getting engaged to planning the big day. Watch your fingers when digging or wear decent gloves - there is usually broken glass in some of the bins because of that.The month of February is National Wedding Month. I also think the staff could do a better job of kicking out people that regularly ruin the experience for others by being aggressive and careless with their rummaging to the point it destroys and/or separates merchandise. Negatives are that the place in general is a little dirty and messy at times. They swap out two rows of 6 huge table-sized bins every hour or so, and it can get crazy - especially in the afternoons when people are there full force. All DVDs and video games are basically $1 each. Wares (basically everything that doesn't fit into any other category) are the cheapest at 39 cents per pound. It's not unusual to walk out of there with a bag or three full of treasures for literally a couple dollars. I've scored quite a few really nice household items, electronics and kids toys that were practically new. Surprisingly, not everything is total garbage. ![]() ![]() Items here are sold by the pound and it's a different experience than your typical Goodwill. Additionally, a lot of unsorted donations will go straight here as well when the stores are overloaded. This is where all the local Goodwill locations send their merchandise that doesn't sell or has been sitting around too long (usually after their dollar day color tag sales on Sundays). If you like to thrift shop for good deals, you'll find them here. Goodluck.įirst thing I would like to say is if you're new "they" will know. With consistency and a little luck, you’ll be sharpening your thrifting skills and striking gold in no time. If you don’t find anything on your first visit, remember that there are new bins full of items that are rotated every single day. If you’re lucky, you’ll get to experience a new bin full of fresh merchandise, without having to go against pushy and competitive shoppers. However, if you’re just curious about the experience during the least busy hours, plan your visit a few hours after the outlet opens. Remember, people make their full-time livings doing this. And based on the Goodwill outlet you’re shopping at, shoving between highly competitive shoppers is normal and to be expected. Make sure to come prepared early in the morning with a set of gloves and a large shopping bag, as the Goodwill carts may go quickly. If you’re open to rummaging through large blue bins piled with clothes, electronics, toys, and other merchandise for a chance to score high-value treasures for cheap, this is your spot.
